Lleno

Nothing like a good full day to feel back in the groove after two days without my trees. Amazingly reassuring to wake up to good weather and eggs! Checked the effectiveness of my treasure hunt (100% success). Also received a sweet thank you message on the computer to greet me.

Got on my turtle of a bike a few after 8:00 in a nice sunny drizzle. Once both Tinny & I got to the plot, we tore it up. Twenty trees in the first hour, then a half hour waiting out the rain. Reached our today-goal of 74 (I think) by 2:05pm with minimal problems or anything. Felt like going for the half hour trip back again but the legs just weren’t too fresh today (no more rainy days!!!).

Post-field stuff then spent an hour or so throwing around the squidgie (no relation to the cheese) (ca. Philmont 2006) with Tom (Grad at MSU) & Kelsey (Assistant on frog project) on the muddy soccer field. Got some dirt worked into the Salomons and worked up a schvitz. My hair was already being perfect today, so I didn’t bother to shower at this point.

Killed an hour before dinner in the office, eating an omelet sandwich, playing with batteries, normal stuff. Missed having a coffee break today, definitely seems to have an effect on my energy stock, yet I’m still going strong at 9:30pm today. For dinner, had what could only be described as if you put eggs and ketchup on top it would be the perfect breakfast (nothing treasure hunt worthy this time).

Check some scores after food and then went to a lecture by Chip (Grad from UGA) about streams, stream ecology, and biogeochemistry. That about sums it up, I’m a couple days behind on data entry. Looks like the whole team (Amanda (to Panama), Debra, Tinny, & Me (???)) will be out of here for a few days beginning Thursday. More news tomorrow, perhaps.

Regarding the picture comments. I’ve been doing this thing called work, so not too many pics have been snapped. And, yes the camera does have a boo boo, but it is operational. Tomorrow I’ll get on the picture thing, maybe, ha.

Karen & I have brainstormed a celebration for the 4th which doesn’t really celebrate Independence, just our culture. Ideally it will include kickball, wiffle ball home run derby, apple pie, and sparklers (materials for this is a good reason to hop into the city Thursday) (along with jeans, dang I miss jeans) (and the inspiration continues with today’s picture of chicken and real cheese on a bagel).

Good night all! (maybe I can make a post where there are more words in parentheses than paragraphs)
