Slept for a real solid 4 hours and woke up to a nice yolky egg. Super quiet morning around the office/lab. Got to concentrate on reading End of Poverty for the first time in a while, enjoyed fine weather on the porch. The rest of the team got up later and we kicked off the morning with a short bike lesson.
Ate lunch inside, that was weird. Everybody was feeling really lazy, Debra & I watched a couple of episodes of Entourage (gobbles of giggles). Debra feels that she was a man born in a woman’s body, although I disagree, she’s more of a one-of-a-kind girl. Resumed highly spirited (at least on my part) bike lessons up and down the first part of the STR.
Coffee break at 3:00pm. Got to show off our fly cups to the coolest researcher in all of tropical biology, Steve (of course) (Steve of exotic meats and willing parasitic host). Attempted to get Tinny to cycle off into the sunset, although the sun went down and we developed about 3 new bad habits for fixing this week.
Along with constantly singing the one line she knows in the Mayonesa song, Debra spent most of her day crying about tadpoles and pesticides. One of the REUs is on a mission to murder 900 tadpoles and Debra “Dirt Major” Hausladen is going to save the day and talk to some of the higher ups to stop the genocide (frog-o-cide?). I wish her luck.
Very interesting dinner entrée. So imagine combining a stuffed-shell-type-noodle, that chicken from chimis and flautas, and tomato paste. Everyone really enjoyed this exotic new taste. Baseball time! Missed A-Rod’s two run shot (27) in the first, but the rerun sufficed. 8 2/3, 10k for the Taiwanese sensation. Also had a nice little group of fellow fans, that’s a first. Until tomorrow…
