Free day, which definitely called for reading and lots of coffee. Slept in to about 8:00am and hopped over to the comedor after cleaning up. Made some killer iced coffees for myself and enjoyed the wonderful weather on the outdoor couches. Amanda rolled up a couple hours later and I walked out to the guard station for an errand.

She was also meeting this dude at the highway at 10:00am and brought me along as her muscle (made me feel all tough and stuff, haha). Guy never showed. Walked on back to the comedor and continued the coffee break right up until lunch. We had these awesome freshly fried tortilla chips with a rice concoction, yum.

A quote from the way back to the station: Amanda (as we are about to jump over a runoff ditch-thingy): “I need to start jumping over more of these things so I get braver.”

Spent the early part of the afternoon chilling in and around the office with Debra & Amanda. Got myself all ready to head off to Lindero Sur for batting tonight. Rain or shine this time, unfortunately, rain. And everybody knows that cats don’t like to come out in the rain, so no super exciting sightings tonight.

Had a couple of solid slip and falls on the trips there and back. Including one as I was hiking along thinking about how I only take spills on fairly easy sections of trail and not the more difficult ones (Smack!). More puddle-hopping that actually hiking on the way back, amazing bike ride back in the dark; only fell off the pavement twice.

Got greeted at the office by the news that my Yankees lost again and Beckett out dueled Peavy (would have loved to see that one). All in all a really great day, including a nice nap under my jacket during the heaviest of the rains. Oh, good news, we did catch two bats, which is actually two more than they caught the last time at that plot. At 10:00pm is was coming down pretty good and Amanda made the call to pack up. Got to bed at 12:30pm. Hasta.
